This infographic illustrates the four stages of a fire and their characteristics. The incipient stage begins with ignition but without spread. In the growth stage, the fire becomes self-sustaining, and intensity rises rapidly. The fully developed stage is the most dangerous, as the fire reaches its peak heat and consumes all available fuel. Finally, the decay stage occurs when fuel decreases, but the fire still poses serious risks. Understanding these stages helps improve fire awareness, response, and prevention strategies.
