Course Description

All Canadian territories and provinces require employers to provide training in the use, care, maintenance, and storage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This course will review the basic types of PPE, and breaks down PPE responsibilities for workers, supervisors, and managers. This course supports the legislative requirement that personal protective equipment training is be provided to all workers who are required to wear PPE.

Course Duration

60 Minutes

Course Completion

Upon completion of the course, learners will be required to pass an assessment of knowledge. Demonstrating a firm grasp of the content, with a score of 80% or higher on the assessments, will generate a digital certificate of completion that can be downloaded in PDF form.

PPE Basics Course

Course participants will learn the different types of basic PPE, how to determine if they are appropriate for the hazard and where to find PPE requirement information. Learners will know what to look for while performing pre-use inspections on their PPE, as well as how frequently inspections must take place. Course participants will also understand the responsibilities they have, and how those responsibilities change based on their level of authority.
