Course Description

In this course, you will learn what pronouns are, how they function in language, and the different types of pronouns. This course explains the importance of using the appropriate pronouns and the impact it has for respect, inclusion and mental health. Other learnings include the practical application of pronouns in the workplace, how to respectfully ask for pronouns, create opportunities for sharing pronouns and practice the correct pronoun usage. Through the creation of an inclusive environment in the workplace and recognizing the diversity of gender identities, you contribute to a supportive team and are an ally to transgender and non-binary colleagues. By the end of the course, you should have a sound understanding of the importance of pronouns, practical skills for using them correctly, and strategies for fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace environment.

• How to address people appropriately and navigate the complex glossary of terms
• Understand what Pronouns are and what they mean
• Gain awareness of gender specific and gender-neutral pronouns
• How to help reduce misunderstandings that arise from gendered assumptions
• Understanding of why an individual’s name and pronouns are important and how to honor them
• How to create an inclusive environment for all genders

Course Completion

Upon completion of the course, learners will be required to pass an assessment of knowledge. Demonstrating a firm grasp of the content, with a score of 80% or higher on the assessments, will generate a digital certificate of completion that can be downloaded in PDF form.
